
- Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge -
Petit Manan is one of the more prominent peninsulas that stretch out into the Atlantic from Maine's Northern coastline. With over 2,000 acres of federally protected land, this refuge is a safe haven for migratory birdlife and a variety of other critters. It's deep mossy Spruce forests and cobblestone beaches extend southward towards Petit Manan Point.








From the Southern point of the peninsula, you can look out towards Green Island - site of the Petit Manan Lighthouse. The surrounding waters along this area are tremendously productive year round and support not only wildlife, but also a thriving local fishery for watermen Downeast.
